Aerobility Aviators Ball 2017

It was a huge privilege in November of last year, to act as MC and Master of Ceremonies for the Aerobility Aviators Ball at Sofitel Heathrow. This charity event raised £100,000 for training disabled pilots.

The RAF Red Arrows started us off and ‘wobbly’ comedian Francesca Martinez closed the show.

Anti-Money Laundering Professionals Dinner 2017

I acted as a Toastmaster and Master of Ceremonies at a private dinner hosted by the Anti-Money Laundering Professionals after their conference on bribery and corruption. The dinner took place in the Drawing Room of Merchant Taylors Hall. Luckily I have a clear conscience!

Many guests from came from abroad. I gave a little speech on livery halls and the activities of the City of London Corporation.

Beautiful chandeliers and wallpaper in the Drawing Room of Merchant Taylors Hall.

Investment and Life Assurance Group Annual Dinner 2017

In November I was at one of my favourite livery halls – The Merchant Taylors in Threadneedle Street (which was named after the activities of the company… needle and thread, get it?), acting as Master of Ceremonies and Toastmaster for the Investment and Life Assurance Group (ILAG) annual dinner. BBC’s deputy political editor John Pienaar was the guest speaker.

Chatham House Prize Ceremony 2015

The London Toastmaster at the Chatham House Prize 2015

I was privileged to be Toastmaster at the 2015 Chatham House Prize ceremony, presented by HRH The Princess Royal to Dr Joanne Liu, President of Médecins Sans Frontières.

[ngg_images source=”galleries” container_ids=”61″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_thumbnails” override_thumbnail_settings=”0″ thumbnail_width=”120″ thumbnail_height=”90″ thumbnail_crop=”1″ images_per_page=”20″ number_of_columns=”0″ ajax_pagination=”0″ show_all_in_lightbox=”0″ use_imagebrowser_effect=”0″ show_slideshow_link=”1″ slideshow_link_text=”[Show slideshow]” order_by=”sortorder” order_direction=”ASC” returns=”included” maximum_entity_count=”500″]

The photographs show:

1. I remember our conversation was friendly but the picture suggests otherwise..

2. Acting as Master of Ceremonies

3. Dr Joanne Liu made a beautiful acceptance speech which honoured those of her colleagues who were killed and injured at the hospital in Kunduz and those who lost their lives during the Ebola crisis.

4. This is why we Toastmasters wear red, I am reminded by my colleague Geoff Harris.
